We have our final ship design! It looks great! Just needs to be textured and we’re in business. We’ve also put in nuclei that are split hemispherically and reflect the colours of the 2 largest genes in the cell they reside in. We’re debating whether or not to keep colour blending on the cells themselves, and instead just use silhouettes and nucleus colours to communicate enemy types. We’ll see how we go.
Enjoy the latest glimpse at the gameplay. I’m testing out different nanomachine helper behaviours. In this clip they’re just doing the standard action for the shield ability (albeit slower than would be intended) however I’m having difficulty figuring out a simple way to make them rotate around arbitrary axes which themselves can move and rotate without going back to the bugged out flocking algorithm so with Beta rapidly approaching we may simply have to cut them completely.
