Our lead artist wanted me to put colour blending between genes in the game.

I feel like we may go back to solid colours, or think of another option. We’ve been throwing around the idea of colouring the nuclei instead of the actual cells in order to show infection types, however this may not be enough. The silhouettes aren’t obvious due to random enemy rotation, the only clear ones being the speed ones that are set to always face the player. The boss is currently invincible while absorbing enemies. I don’t like this, and I think it’d be nice to have some sort of shell or container that the boss stays inside while absorbing enemies, which then busts open when ready. Perhaps this shell deflecting your bullets could indicate its invincibility.
